WATCH: Nurse Amy Johnson Ford praises Trump administration’s action on telehealth | 2020 RNC Night 1

"Amy Johnson Ford, a nurse from West Virginia, spoke on the first night of the Republican National Convention on Aug. 24. Johnson, who worked as a relief nurse in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, praised the Trump administration’s actions on telehealth services. “President Trump recognized the threat this virus presented for all Americans early on, and made rapid policy changes. And as a result, telehealth services are now accessible to more than 71 million Americans, including 35 million children,” Ford said. The administration released a series of recommendations in mid-April for states to rapidly deploy telehealth services in their Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Programs (CHIP), which are jointly administered by state and federal governments. If all states follow these recommendations, these telehealth expansions will apply to up to 71 million Americans."
